A Taste of Color ..Radiant Orchid

Do you like following trends? Are you looking to update your space? Maybe you’d like to add a feminine touch to it. Either way I have the perfect solution!

Try updating your space with the new color of the year. Every year Pantone forecasts which color will be the “it” color of the year. The color of 2014 is Radiant Orchid. A color that is said to spark the imagination! So why not try to get creative with it.

There are so many different ways that you can incorporate this years color into your life. This fabulous hue of purple can be used in paint, accents or even accessories. And paint is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to get that “quick fix”.

Radiant Orchid can be paired with a few different colors so you don’t have to feel limited. Considering it is a hue of purple, the complimentary color is yellow. Green also works well with purple. Pantone suggests a hunter green for the perfect match and I so agree! A color combo I’d love to experiment with is teal or turquoise with the radiant orchid. If that’s too much color for you then you could always stick to the neutrals with that pop of orchid.

The color of the year doesn’t stop at interiors, you can also find it in spring ’14 runway shows. If you can’t add this to your home, try adding it to your closet or even your make-up. So many options!
